In Loving Memory of My Beloved Godmother, Ma’am Consuelo Bernabe Dear Ninang Consuelo, It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to you. I will always be grateful that life gave me the privilege of knowing you—not only as my former English teacher at Mapúa High School when I was a student from 1978 to 1980, but later as my English Coordinator and Head Teacher when I became part of the school in 1987, and most especially as my beloved godmother. When I got married in 1987, I chose you to be my godmother because you had already become someone I deeply admired and trusted. Through the years, you became much more than a teacher and godmother to me. I came to love and consider you as my second mother. I treasured every piece of advice, guidance, and wisdom you shared with me—not only about my work as a teacher, but also about family and life. You were someone I looked up to and tried to imitate, both in your dedication to the school and in the way you cared for and guided your family. Your life was a beautiful example of integrity, kindness, strength, and love. I will always cherish the happy memories we shared, especially the wonderful opportunities we had to visit you and celebrate your birthdays in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2017 and 2019. Those moments of laughter, stories, and bonding are memories I will carry in my heart forever. At 93, you lived a long and meaningful life, touching the lives of so many people—including mine. Your lessons did not end when I left your classroom. They continued throughout my life, and I will forever be grateful for the person you were to me. Thank you, Ninang, for believing in me, guiding me, and loving me like your own. Thank you for being my teacher, mentor, godmother, and second mother. You may no longer be with us physically, but your love, wisdom, and beautiful example will remain with me always. Rest peacefully, my dear Ninang Consuelo. You will always have a special place in my heart. With all my love and gratitude, Your godchild, Lorenzo and Aleta Veridiano

Ma'am Bernabe has been an inspiration of calmness at any given situation. She has been very patient, and truly a second mom for us while in school. Her being our advisory class teacher extended over and beyond our school days. We thank God for allowing us to be touched by her life in simple and yet deeply meaningful ways. May God's comfort be upon the loved ones, to those of us whole lives were touched by Ma'am Bernabe.

Ma'am Bernabe, you taught me Basic Technical Writing skills back in High School. These skills make me an effective IT Deployment Manager. But more than, you showed me how to be kind. Rest in heaven, my dear Ma'am Bernabe.
