Uncle John was a master of dry humour, the kind that sneaks up on you and leaves you laughing long after the punchline. He had a gift for finding joy in the moment - Something I remember from my childhood. Surfing was more than a pastime for him; it was part of who he was. As unexpected as it was beautiful, his final chapter was written in Tahiti, just days before his 70th birthday, soon after standing before the famous, giant waves of Teahupoo. He left us surrounded by what he loved, in a place that echoed his adventurous spirit, with his beloved partner, Tonia, by his side on that special journey. We’ll miss his sharp wit, wisdom, and the way he rode life’s waves. Uncle John, may the surf be perfect where you are now. With Love, Cal, 'Neph'
